Delicious Italian Food

May 24, 2017 - posted by
We had dinner here one time and we love the food. Staff service is excellent. Sometimes you really have to pay more to get this quality service. I ordered the seafood pasta and my husband ordered the Chicken Parm and he loved it. It was the best meal we had in Aruba during our stay in May 2017. The only downside is it's quite pricey. But it's worth it.

Lousy Place to Eat

Apr 18, 2017 - posted by
Where to start.... we were looking for the Driftwood restaurant but found out later it was downtown. When we walked in we were ushered to the inside area "air conditioned" instead of the outside area where there were the lovely tropical breezes. I suspect it was our appearance while the outside area stayed empty while we were inside.

We sent the calamari back... horrible. It was a like eating a soft foam nugget. Then it took forever to flag someone to pay the bill. The food bill even by Aruba standards was huge. This place is the kind of place where a patron would be justified to walk in front with a sign that said "don't eat here".

The worst restaurant in Aruba

Jan 16, 2017 - posted by
The cheese wheel pasta is the draw but not worth all else that you must put up with. I have never before seen a 14 inch platter containing a 3 inch wide 3 inch long piece of grouper with a slice of lemon called a 28 dollar meal. Are they for real? Service was confusing at best and intolerable most of the time. The security guard calls himself a supervisor and passes himself off as manager. If you demand the manager he is the one in the rumpled t shirt messy hair and huge bad attitude. This restaurant is not Italian. It's not run by Italians. The chef is not Italian. It is an insult to all Italians or anyone who knows good Italian food. If they made their money in Aruba close the doors and go out in style. Shut down and let someone else have a turn.

Don't bother

Apr 24, 2016 - posted by
Perhaps being from New York and going to Italian food in Aruba is simply a mistake, but with all of the excellent food on this island going to this place is a mistake.
My 14 year old son, who never finishes an entree ordered the Kobe steak. The portion was surprisingly small. Perhaps it tasted excellent, but he cleaned his plate and was requesting bread to nosh on before I even tasted my entree.
My snapper was good, but at $45 it did not come with any sides. One you add the $20 for the two sides you are up to $65 for a single person.
At this price point they raise the bar too high to satisfy with their mediocre food.
Save your time and money and go to any number of excellent alternatives.

Rip Off

We are people who love great food and restaurants, we do not mind spending money on great food. This isn't it. We had to send back the pasta for both our pasta dishes, were not done! For an Italian restaurant not to know how to make al dente pasta is not good. One of our undone pasta dishes was $50! They were very nice but didn't seem to get it. We told the manger about this, he listened. Having eaten is some of the worlds greatest restaurants, a good one would have returned our money. Gianni's didn't. Tourist trap
Don't waste your money here if you want real Italian food. Nice people, great service.

Terrible place, don't bother

Went here tonight. Food was lousy. Undercooked pastas, lousy sauces...I guess what you should expect of Italian food in the Caribbean. Service was abysmal. Absent waiters. Mentioned something to the manager on the way out and he couldn't care less. Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else.

Best Restaurant On The Island

Best restaurant on the island. Great service, and the food is perfect. My favorite is the cheese wheel pasta - literally prepared in a cheese wheel to perfectly coat every piece of pasta. The squid ink pasta is also incredible.

Mediocore food at exorbitant prices

Jun 8, 2015 - posted by
The title of my review pretty much sums up what I want to say about this restaurant. The food was mediocre and the prices were exorbitant. My friend paid $49 for a pasta!! The spaghetti Bolognese at Taste of Belgium was much better at a quarter of the price. To make matters worse, the service was also poor. Definitely not recommended.
