Gianni's Ristorante Italiano

The food was fine but not worth the price and the service was flat out bad.
Came here with a party of 8, all locals except me and my sister who insisted we come here to try the cheese wheel pasta despite our family on the island trying to dissuade her. One party member was running late and we told the waitress that we were waiting for her to order food but ordered a pitcher of sangria in the meantime. The sangria was great. We later ordered another pitcher as it was popular and worth the price of $55 since we got about 5 glasses put of it. Despite telling the waitress we were waiting for someone she came over several times asking if we were ready and she was obviously getting increasingly impatient.
When we were ready to order the waitress did not tell us the specials or anything. I asked specifically since I had been here once before and knew they had specials. We saw people with some kind of prosciutto appetizer and thought it was maybe a special but she didn’t mention it. I ordered the bruschetta ruccola thinking that this was that appetizer that I was seeing. When she brought out the ruccola I was disappointed to find it was not that delicious app I was seeing. The waitress gave me attitude when I was confused about this and said “that’s the burrata” but there was no burrata on the menu! The bruschetta rucolla was good, we still ate it, but i was definitely disappointed.
For dinner a few people did the cheese wheel pasta with a side of meatballs, I did the bolognese and two people split a chicken alfredo pasta. The cheese wheel pasta was pretty good, I think for the price they could have had a bit more a show with them tossing the pasta, there was barely any flames or anything. But taste-wise, I thought it was very good. One person said it was “too salty”, and it was fairly salty from the cheese but me and the others liked that. The meatball was okay, it was one very large meatball. Personally I would skip it. My bolognese was pretty good. The Parmesan crisp on top really added a lot to the flavor but overall the dish was fairly average. The carbonara was creamy and the chicken in it was ok, but like my bolognese it was just average. For these prices I expect at least above average, if not great. I should also note that everything took forever! We ordered around 7:20 and we did not get out of there until past 9.
The restaurant itself is very nice, we were sat outside which could be very warm unless you are seated near one of the fans. I was comfortable and the surroundings were nice. The bus-people were very nice and attentive bringing us fresh water and ice often. When we got our bill however the waitress gave us a hard time, messing up some items on the bill, including a locals discount, and disputing it.
Overall, despite the waitress dampening our moods, Gianni’s is fine. Is it the best Italian on the island? No. Is it the worst? Far from it. Is it worth the price? Definitely not, but I won’t judge people for being in lured in by the flaming cheese wheel.

Third time and never again
This is the third time in the last three years we went to Gianni ‘s. This is the third time the service was awful. After waiting an inordinate time to get kids meal served, they finally brought two out of the four adult meals. 10 minutes later, well almost everyone was done, my food came and it was cold and in the wrong sauce. My wife’s food never came. She will end up sharing her food with our daughter. To make matters worse, the waiter decided he was going to be nice and bring us each another round of wine. Instead of bringing the rather pricey wines we ordered before, he bought Some cheap on drinkable house wine. When I looked at the bill I found out why my wife’s food never came. It was never on the bill to begin with. He forgot to put it in. The manager did nothing to placate us and didn’t even offer my wife’s food to go. I don’t care how good the food is in a place, if the service stinks the place stinks!
There’s too many other places on this island with good food. Never again

Its ok,nothing to write home about. Always seems crowded, but other italian restaurants in area offer a better dining experience. I wouldnt return Giannis

After first visit in 2016 service and food was excellent our opinion 5 star
January 25 2019 was very disappoint service was nothing to compare and food was not even close of what we are few years back 3.5 star our opinion

I truly do not understand all the bad reviews. We do not get to travel to Aruba every year, in fact it has been 8 years since our last trip, but we always have at least one dinner at Gianni\'s when we are there. The food is pricey, sure, but you expect that in Aruba. The food has always been delicious and they did not disappoint this time either. My husband tried the stuffed oysters and loved them. I always get the chocolate salami for dessert. So good! Gianni\'s is one of our favorite restaurants in Aruba and we will be back!

We getting ready for our yearly vacation to Aruba and were checking out some of the restaurants we have been.Surprised to see this restaurant is still there. Although the location is appealing the food and service stink. The cheese wheel is cool but check out the price. It is a ripoff.Nothing special at this place, and to add insult to injury you feel like you have just been mugged when after a long wait they present you with the check.

My boyfriend and I went back in mid November and I had a spicy squid ink pasta with lobster shrimp muscles calamari and scallops. It was probably the best meal I've ever had. I'm looking for the menu now so I can make it at home. The service was a little slow but they were busy.

Everything was Excellent. I am an Italian/American New Yorker (Brooklyn) used to homemade sauce and Italian food. Been to pretty much every top Italian restaurant in NYC. Gianni's Aruba is a real treat, any negative reviews are probably from food chain lovers. I read some complaints about $ ( its worth the extra $10, don't be a cheapo. you're on vacation) Great food great service. Got my whole family's thumbs up. BTW we had all inclusive in a 4.5 star hotel . Thanks for the great experience. PS, I never leave reviews..

This was probably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. After eating this horrible overpriced food my entire family felt sick. This restuarant is a waste of money and I suggest you save yourself time and money by going elsewhere.

We were told by several of our friends to try Gianni's Restaurant. We did go for dinner however we found the food not so good. I'm not sure if we went on an off night or its always not good. My husband got Chicken parm and it wasn't good. The sauce is watery and had not taste. I got the Grilled Duck. I taste was good but it was over cooked. We never leave food on out plate and if we do we take doggie bags, but we left the food . It wasn't worth taking it home. I was very disappointed this restaurant came highly recommended.
